Sustainability Statement
βAt Otisa, we are deeply committed to sustainability and believe that reducing our footprint on the planet is a responsibility of ours as business.
We believe that fashion can coexist harmoniously with nature, and we are dedicated to minimising our impact on the planet while creating beautiful swimwear that empowers our customers.
We recognize that sustainability is an ongoing journey, and we are committed to continuous improvement. We regularly review and evaluate our practices to identify opportunities for innovation and optimisation.
Thank you for supporting Otisa, and our commitment to leaving the smallest footprint on the world. We believe that every choice we make plays a crucial role in minimizing our environmental impact and promoting a more sustainable future for our planet.β
Thoughtfully Sourced Materials
We prioritize the use of sustainable materials in our swimwear production, carefully selecting materials that are sourced from recycled materials, such as post-consumer plastic bottles and discarded fishing nets recovered from the ocean. By utilizing recycled materials, we help reduce waste from landfills + oceans, reduce the demand for new resources and minimize our environmental footprint.
Our swimwear is proudly made in Bali, where we work closely with skilled artisans and manufacturers who share our commitment to quality craftsmanship and ethical labor practices.
All swim fabrics used by Otisa are OEKO-TEX Certified which means they do not release any harmful substances that can be hazardous to people's health such as pesticides, heavy metals, formaldehyde, aromatic amines or allergising colourants. The requirements and thresholds of this certification are constantly updated based on the latest medical-scientific studies.
Plastic-Free Packaging
All Otisa packaging is consciously chosen to be plastic free.
Our swimwear is packaged using eco-friendly alternatives, such as compostable mailers + hygiene stickers, dissolvable garment bags, and recycled paper tags to minimize environmental impact and promote responsible consumption. We choose recycled paper wherever possible. We keep our ecommerce packaging to a minimum to generate less waste and produce less CO2 in its transport.
Our compostable bags + hygiene stickers are made from plant-based materials that break down naturally in composting environments, leaving behind zero harmful residues. By opting for compostable packaging, we not only reduce our reliance on plastic but also contribute to the creation of nutrient-rich compost that can be used to enrich soil and support sustainable agriculture.
Ethical Manufacturing in Bali
At Otisa, we are proud to partner with a small team of skilled artisans in Bali, Indonesia, who share our commitment to ethical manufacturing practices and quality craftsmanship. Our production facilities adhere to strict environmental standards, and prioritize the well-being of their employees, ensuring fair wages and reasonable hours. We have visited our manufacturing partners to ensure compliance with our ethical standards and to foster long-term, collaborative relationships built on trust and transparency.
As our business grows we will continue to look for ways to never compromise on people and the planet.
